FSU football started the game with a ton of swagger, unfortunately Virginia Tech punched them right in the mouth and they never recovered after that.
The Noles gave up a touchdown on the opening drive that didn’t see Virginia Tech even need a third down conversion. Consequently, the Noles turned the ball over on their side of the field on their first possession.
However, the FSU defense held the Hokies to a field goal which had to be considered a win. From that point on the defense did its job as the offense did them no favors.
