Cowgirls fall to Shockers, in danger of elimination

Oklahoma State softball will no longer have any room for error in its quest to advance from its NCAA Regional.

OSU couldn't produce outside of the first inning in its game against Wichita State, losing 8-2. The loss sets up a do-or-die game at 4 p.m. Saturday against DePaul, who lost to host Arkansas, 2-0.

OSU (38-21) came out hot in the first inning, scoring its two runs on a fielding error that saw Vanessa Shippy cross home and an RBI single from freshman Chelsea Alexander that plated Taylor Lynch. The Cowgirls left five runners on base and got only two more hits the rest of the game.
